The new regulations integrate and iterate on outdated standards, filling regulatory gaps and imposing stringent compliance requirements, particularly for high-risk applications such as hydrogen, chemicals, and LNG. Currently, there are over 24 million pressure vessels and 1.29 million kilometers of pressure pipelines in use nationwide. While the hydrogen energy industry is developing rapidly, there has long been a lack of specific safety standards for high-pressure hydrogen valves and cryogenic liquid hydrogen valves. The new regulations explicitly define mandatory requirements for hydrogen valves, including resistance to hydrogen embrittlement and low leakage (≤100ppm), and incorporate emergency shut-off valves into the entire lifecycle management system. This addresses three major pain points: regulatory gaps, outdated standards, and fragmented regulations, thereby promoting safety upgrades across the industry.
